The Casa Miradouro is situated in a peaceful and serene location, but still only minutes away from the historic centre and the National Palace. It is located in Sintra, a World Heritage Site due to its 19th Century Roman architecture.
The hotel is family run, with a small amount of rooms, ensuring privacy and the opportunity to relax with some peace of mind. The comfortable, cosy and well-decorated interior will make you feel right at home, while the surrounding area provides ample opportunity for some hearty walks and interesting exploration
Casa Miradouro was built around 1890, and completely restored in 1993, opening for guests in July 1994. The name translates to Viewpoint House, named as such because of the fantastic view towards the Atlantic Ocean and over Sintra.
Eight cosy bedrooms all benefit from private bathrooms, double-glazed windows and central heating making them comfortable even in the short Portuguese winters. All rooms are decorated in bright colours, with impressive, large windows for full enjoyment of the magnificent views. Some of the rooms have beautiful stucco ceilings.
A stunning lounge area with beautiful stucco ceilings, satellite-TV, a bar, library and fire place is an ideal place for guests can mingle with each other, as well as the family of owners and caretakers.
Outside in addition to the beautiful building itself guests are invited to enjoy the terrace in the estate gardens.
A breakfast buffet is served in a charming breakfast room.
Drinks are available from the “interactive” bar or on request.
Getting Out & About
Located within 500 metres of the National Palace, Casa Miradouro provides an excellent base to visit the historic monuments of Sintra. There are a host beautiful parks in the area, as well as the outstanding new museum of contemporary art.
Casa Miradouro is situated within the Historic centre of Sintra, a short walk from the Royal Palace and the shops and restaurants, but is still in a quiet and peaceful location of its own.
Lovers of music can enjoy the chamber music and ballet festivals in June/July, and there are several golf courses within a 12 km radius.
